MAX Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative Director CEO Tatsumitsu Miyahara, hereinafter "MAX") and Kyuden Drone Service Co., Ltd. (Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative Director President Kenichi Honda, hereinafter "QDS") have agreed to form a business alliance in the field of infrastructure inspection utilizing drones, including the domestically produced small drone IBIS2, and have concluded a basic agreement for a business alliance (hereinafter, "this alliance").
Through this alliance, both companies will leverage their respective strengths in technology, know-how, and human resources to further promote the utilization and accelerate the social implementation of drone-based infrastructure inspection. They will also advance sales activities, enhance inspection service provision and operational technology, and foster drone pilots and human resources tailored for industrial applications.
■ Background of this Alliance
While the aging of social infrastructure, including sewage systems, is a nationwide issue, there is a demand for ensuring safety and enhancing the sophistication and efficiency of inspection operations. Particularly in inspection sites involving confined and enclosed spaces, challenges such as harsh working environments and labor shortages are becoming apparent, increasing the importance of social implementation for new drone-based inspection methods.
Against this backdrop, QDS, which has extensive experience in infrastructure inspection, primarily of power facilities, a nationwide network, and a robust operator system, and MAX, which possesses specialized drone operation technology for inspection in confined and enclosed spaces and expertise in domestic drones (such as IBIS2), decided that by combining their mutual technologies and know-how, they could provide more safe and reliable drone services, leading to the conclusion of this alliance.
■ Objectives and Content of this Alliance
In this alliance, both companies will mutually utilize their technologies, know-how, human resources, and sales bases to promote the following initiatives:
(1) Promotion of sales activities and joint proposals aimed at the social implementation and nationwide expansion of infrastructure inspection utilizing IBIS2.
(2) Strengthening the service provision system through mutual support regarding resources such as operational technology, equipment, pilots, and personnel, including for confined and dark spaces, to provide safe and reliable inspection services.
(3) Collaboration in practical drone pilot training and human resource development tailored for industrial applications, utilizing the expertise of both companies' drone schools.
(4) Cooperation in promoting the widespread adoption and sales support of domestically produced drone aircraft, including IBIS2.
