Kansai Gaidai University (Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture) held its second open campus of 2026 at the Nakamiya Campus and Gotenyama Campus Global Town.

Approximately 2,000 participants, including high school students, learned about Kansai Gaidai's academic content and daily life by listening to students with exchange study experience and international students, participating in trial classes for the Faculty of Foreign Studies, the Faculty of International Coexistence, and the Junior College, and taking campus tours.

At the Nakamiya Campus, the dogwood trees planted in the Central Garden near the main gate are in full bloom. Dogwood trees were sent from the United States in 2012, 100 years after Japan sent 3,000 cherry trees as a sign of friendship to the United States in 1912. Among the 3,000 dogwood trees sent to Japan, 20 were donated to Kansai Gaidai University in 2015.

Open campus participants enjoyed the pleasant May weather, taking commemorative photos with the dogwood trees and campus buildings in the background while strolling through the Central Garden.

The next open campus is on Sunday, June 21st. Applications and details can be found here or via the QR code below.
