Kyoto Seika University (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto; President: Masato Sawada) will host a keynote lecture, "Sustainable 'Environment' and 'Technology' —The Future of Commons (Co-creation) Opened by the Expo—" (organized by the university's Human Environment Design Program), featuring the internationally acclaimed architect Sou Fujimoto. Mr. Fujimoto has received numerous awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize and the JIA Newcomer's Award, and has worked on various projects worldwide, from private residences to universities, commercial facilities, hotels, and complex buildings.

In his keynote, he will discuss the environment and technology, the potential of wooden architecture, and the implementation of a future society.

Following the lecture, a tripartite discussion will be held with Oussouby Sacko, a visiting professor in the university's Department of Architecture and a director for EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai, and Toshiaki Kawai, a faculty member in the same department, for a multifaceted discussion on architecture and society.
