[400 People/Day Limit] Kyoto Arashiyama June Young Ayu Festival: A Charity Event with Grilled Sweetfish Tasting

As a charity event limited to 400 young sweetfish (ayu) per day, those who donate 1,500 yen or more per share will be able to sample charcoal-grilled ayu. The event will be held for two days at Nakanoshima Park, next to the Togetsukyo Bridge in the Kyoto tourist spot of Arashiyama. It offers fun for the whole family, from children to adults, with activities like an ayu catching experience, a 'Katsura River Aquarium' where you can interact with creatures caught in the Katsura River that morning, and an 'SDGs啓発ブース' (SDGs Awareness Booth) featuring water-related experiments. This marks the 39th year of the Arashiyama Young Ayu Festival, a signature event heralding the arrival of summer in Arashiyama, tied to the opening of the ayu fishing season on the Katsura River. The event aims to connect Arashiyama's nature and culture to the future, with proceeds being donated to landscape and environmental conservation activities in Arashiyama. The event also features environmental awareness workshops and exhibits, including a display by high school student Shunya Furuta, who has been studying the fish of the Katsura River since 2016.
