Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Kyoritsu Maintenance / President and CEO: Koji Nakamura / Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will hold the "Kannonzaki Coast Beach Clean" as part of its environmental conservation activities on July 12, 2026, at Kannonzaki Coast in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

This event is a project led by "RA (Resident Assistants)" (※), student leaders from Dormy, our student housing, who will spearhead the day's operations and participants. This year's theme is "Let's pick up, protect, and enjoy with friends," with approximately 60 participants expected, primarily residents from the Tokyo metropolitan area, on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be the fourth time this activity is held since its inception in 2023. City officials from Yokosuka City Hall will also be present to greet the participating students. Students, corporations, and government will work together from their respective positions to protect the region's beautiful natural environment.

Background and Objectives

As we operate student housing nationwide and interact with many young people daily, we have realized an increasing number of students who want to take proactive action regarding SDGs and social issues in recent years. We believe it is our important role to respond to these student aspirations and provide them with opportunities for practical learning and social contribution.

The beach clean activity at Kannonzaki Coast began when our company endorsed Yokosuka City's "Declaration of Action for Marine Plastic Waste Countermeasures," and this year marks the fourth occurrence. Student leaders, the "RAs," take the lead on-site, and the event has evolved beyond simple trash collection into an environmental event.

With each continuation of the activity, participating students' environmental awareness has grown, leading to the formation of a student community that transcends dormitory boundaries. In collaboration with our resort hotel, "La Vista Yokosuka Kannonzaki Terrace," located nearby, we will provide opportunities to learn firsthand about the environmental conservation initiatives promoted by the city and contribute to building a sustainable local community.

Event Features and Highlights

Hotel staff also participate. Environmental activities that transcend hotels and dormitories, fostering cooperation across businesses.

On the day, hotel staff from "La Vista Yokosuka Kannonzaki Terrace" will also join the cleaning activities, providing a valuable opportunity for hotel staff and students to work together, break a sweat, and reflect on environmental conservation.

On the bus ride to the venue and before the cleaning activities upon arrival, team-based recreational games such as "Human Stopwatch" and "True/False Quiz about Yokosuka City and the Hotel" will be held to help students who meet for the first time to quickly bond.

Abundant "Food and Relaxation" benefits leveraging the strengths of a resort hotel.

To make it easier for students to take a step towards social contribution, participation is free, and experiences utilizing the facilities of "La Vista Yokosuka Kannonzaki Terrace," overlooking Tokyo Bay, are prepared.

Future Outlook: Towards the Realization of a Sustainable Local Community

Kyoritsu Maintenance will continue to engage in regional contribution activities, including this event, and provide opportunities for next-generation students to participate in SDGs. Furthermore, by deepening the collaboration between our dormitory business and hotel business, we aim to expand our activities to contribute more to the local community and enhance resident satisfaction. Using this activity as a model case, we will broaden our cooperation with various regions and contribute to the development of a sustainable local society.

What is the RA (Resident Assistant) Program?

This is our unique system that upgrades student housing from a "place to live" to a "place for diverse experiences." RAs are responsible for supporting the daily lives of residents and promoting interaction among residents by planning and managing events to make student life more enjoyable and fulfilling. Furthermore, their activities extend beyond the dormitory to aim for coexistence with the community through regional exchange and SDGs activities. We also build a network of RA alumni and current RAs to create opportunities for RAs to connect with society.
