Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Kyoritsu Maintenance / President and CEO: Koji Nakamura / Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will hold the "Shichigahama Beach Clean Activity" on July 11, 2026, at Minatohama Seaside Park in Shichigahama Town, Miyagi Prefecture, as part of environmental conservation activities and community contribution.

This event is a project led by "RA (Resident Assistants)" (※), student leaders of Dormy, student housing operated by our company, who will lead the day's operations and participants. Approximately 60 students, mainly residents from the Tohoku area, are scheduled to participate. This year, we have received official support from Shichigahama Town, and students, companies, and government will collaborate to protect the beautiful natural environment of the town.

Background and Objectives of the Activity

As we operate student housing nationwide and interact with many young people daily, we realize that an increasing number of students in recent years want to take proactive action regarding SDGs and social issues. We believe it is our important role to respond to these student aspirations and provide them with opportunities for practical learning and social contribution.

To date, our company has conducted beach clean activities centered around "RA," who serve as leaders for residents, in places such as Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. This initiative not only aims for environmental conservation but also serves as a valuable opportunity for students to interact beyond their respective dormitories and form communities.

Last year, we held this event for the first time in Shichigahama Town in the Tohoku area, and it was highly praised by participating students, who commented, "I was able to contribute to society while having fun." In response to this feedback, this year we have received official support from Shichigahama Town, and the activity will further develop as an initiative to protect the beautiful sea of the region "together with the town."

Collaboration with the Community, Working "Together with the Town"

This year, we have received official support from Shichigahama Town. Government, private companies, and students, who will bear the future, are working as one to protect Shichigahama's beautiful nature while interacting directly with local residents.

Planning and Operation to Promote Interaction by Students (RA)

Student leaders, "RA," will manage operations such as recreational activities with the aim of deepening interaction among participants and providing a better learning opportunity.

Efforts to Make Participation "Enjoyable"

To make it easier for students to take a step towards social contribution, participation is free, and we have prepared elements to make it "enjoyable."

Special Bento Boxes from Local Restaurants: We will collaborate with local restaurants to provide delicious bento boxes unique to Shichigahama.

Refresh with Natural Hot Springs: After the beach cleanup, participants can relax and refresh their minds and bodies by bathing in the "Kaijin no Yu" natural hot spring large public bath at our "Dormy Inn EXPRESS Sendai Seaside" hotel.

Presentation of Participation Certificates: To provide a tangible memento of the activity, participation certificates will be awarded.

What is the RA (Resident Assistant) Program?

This is our company's unique system that upgrades "student housing" from a "place to live" to a "place for diverse experiences." RAs are responsible for supporting the daily lives of residents and promoting interaction among residents by planning and managing events to make student life more enjoyable and fulfilling. Furthermore, their activities extend beyond the dormitory to aim for coexistence with the community through community interaction and SDGs activities. We also build a network of RA alumni and current RAs to create opportunities for RAs to connect with society.
