This special anniversary concert celebrates approximately 40 years of her musical journey, honoring the melodies that have been etched into the hearts of people across generations.
Grammy Award-winning conductor Arnie Roth, known for conducting numerous game music titles such as "Distant Worlds: music of FINAL FANTASY," will lead the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra for this event, held on September 25th at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.

Yoko Shimomura (Composer)
Graduated from Osaka College of Music, Department of Music, Instrumental Major (Piano). After working at Capcom Co., Ltd. and Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix Co., Ltd.), she became independent and is now active as a freelance composer both domestically and internationally.
She has worked on numerous popular titles such as "Street Fighter II," "Super Mario RPG," "Legend of Mana," the "Kingdom Hearts" series, and "Final Fantasy XV," and is highly regarded as one of the leading composers in the game music industry.
Her work spans a wide range of genres, from rhythmic compositions using synthesizers to grand orchestral pieces for large ensembles. She is also known for her delicate and emotional melodies and dramatic musical expression, with her music beloved by many across countries and generations. Her music is performed at concerts and events worldwide, demonstrating her international popularity.
In recent years, she has been involved not only in composition but also in lyric writing and production, continuing to be active in diverse fields including games, anime, and visual works. Her over 30 years of achievements and significant contributions to game music culture have been highly recognized, earning her the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards in 2024. Furthermore, in 2025, she will be the first game music composer to receive the highest honor, the "BAFTA Fellowship," at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), further cementing her international acclaim.
Arnie Roth (Conductor)
Conductor Arnie Roth is a Grammy Award-winning musician known for his collaborations with world-renowned artists and orchestras. He is also well-known in the world of game music, having worked with Square Enix to conduct numerous tours, including "Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY," "FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Orchestra World Tour," and "NieR: Orchestra Concert re:12018," serving as director and producer.
To date, he has produced numerous bestselling albums for labels such as American Gramaphone, Mattel, Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, Koch, Razor & Tie, AWR Records, and Square Enix Music, showcasing his diverse activities.

Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in 1911, it is the orchestra with the longest history in Japan. It possesses both symphony orchestra and theatre orchestra functions. Honorary Music Director Myung-Whun Chung, Chief Conductor Andrea Battistoni, and Special Guest Conductor Mikhail Pletnev. In addition to its own performances, it engages in high-level musical activities through opera and ballet performances at the New National Theatre, broadcasts for NHK, and more.
