Seiko Niizuma Confirmed as Guest for July 1st Tokyo NHK Hall Performance in Chisako Takashima '12 Violinists' 20th Anniversary Tour

It has been announced that musical actress Seiko Niizuma will make a guest appearance at the Tokyo NHK Hall performance on Wednesday, July 1st, as part of the 'Chisako Takashima 12 Violinists Concert Tour 2026-2027', which is set to begin in June 2026. Chisako Takashima began playing the violin at the age of six and has studied under Tsugio Tokunaga, Toshiya Eto, and Syoko Aki Earl. After graduating from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, she completed the Artist Diploma course at the Yale University School of Music master's program in 1994. In the same year, she joined the Miami-based orchestra 'New World Symphony', and made her CD debut the following year in 1995. Since moving her base of activities to Japan in 1997, she has been performing nearly 100 concerts annually in addition to her television appearances. Among her activities, the '12 Violinists' is a popular violin ensemble launched to mark the 10th anniversary of Takashima's solo debut. Since their first performance in 2006, they have performed on numerous stages. For this upcoming tour, which marks the milestone 20th anniversary of their formation, they will hold their first-ever nationwide tour covering all 47 prefectures with a total of 56 performances. Reflecting Takashima's own sentiment that 'because it is a special year marking the 20th anniversary, we want to deliver content even more special than our regular performances', there will also be special projects featuring gorgeous guests. Appearing as the first wave of special guests, Seiko Niizuma is an actress and singer who has appeared in musical productions such as 'Les Misérables' and 'Miss Saigon'. She has received the 31st Kazuo Kikuta Theater Award, the 61st Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival Newcomer Award in the theater division, and the 7th Tokiko Iwatani Award Encouragement Prize. Centered around musicals, she takes advantage of her rich vocal volume and expressive power to participate broadly in stage productions, concerts, and music programs. Furthermore, the announcement of new special guests is planned for the future. In addition, this tour is scheduled to roll out a number of special projects commemorating the 20th anniversary, such as recruiting local choirs through Takashima's social media. Special stages will be delivered nationwide. The tour kicks off on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Chiba Urayasu City Cultural Hall (Main Hall) and travels through all 47 prefectures for 56 performances, concluding with the Okinawa performance on Sunday, February 28, 2027.
