The "Ishida Group" is a string ensemble that has garnered attention for its spectacular live performances transcending the boundaries of classical music. Centered around violinist Yasunao Ishida, top players carefully selected for each performance gather to deliver passionate, once-in-a-lifetime performances across the country. They are currently in the midst of a tour visiting 45 venues nationwide. In August 2026, a total of 6 performances will be held in Nagoya and Tokyo. Members are recruited for each performance, primarily from leading orchestra members in the Tokyo metropolitan area whom Ishida trusts. The Ishida Group's concerts, featuring masterpieces transcending genres from classical to film music and rock numbers performed passionately by different members each time, are highly popular nationwide, allowing audiences to experience a truly once-in-a-lifetime encounter with music. The August 2023 Suntory Hall performances, including an additional performance, sold out immediately for both of the two performances on one day. Furthermore, the additional performance also sold out, recording an unprecedented mobilization of over 6,000 people over two days in the classical music world. In 2024, their 10th-anniversary year, they enthusiastically performed for a sold-out audience of 8,300 people at their long-awaited Nippon Budokan concert on November 10th. In December 2025, they will release a new album, "Ishida Group 2025 Winter." They will perform at Osaka-jo Hall on October 11th, 2026. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated at the top of his class from Kunitachi College of Music, simultaneously receiving the Yatabe Award. After serving as concertmaster for the New Japan Philharmonic, he was appointed solo concertmaster of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001. Since then, he has become the "face of the Kanagawa Philharmonic" and currently holds the important position of principal solo concertmaster. He has received the Kanagawa Culture Award Future Prize and the Yokohama Culture Award Culture and Art Encouragement Prize. From April 2020, he has also served as special guest concertmaster for the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra (and will become solo concertmaster from April 2025).
