Kyndryl Japan, Inc. announced that the Kyndryl Foundation, Kyndryl's non-profit private foundation, has selected Certified NPO Sodateage Net (hereinafter referred to as Certified NPO Sodateage Net) and Certified NPO CLACK (hereinafter referred to as Certified NPO CLACK), whose main activities are in Japan, as recipients of its third round of grants. This will be the third consecutive year of grants to Certified NPO Sodateage Net and the second consecutive year to Certified NPO CLACK, continuing support for initiatives aimed at promoting human resource development and job creation in the cybersecurity field.

The Kyndryl Foundation will continue to support existing grantees over multiple years, as well as support new organizations focused on cybersecurity, AI training, digital inclusion, and employment support. In its third year, this grant program has expanded its target countries to 13, with the new additions of France and Mexico, and is expected to contribute to over 100,000 people worldwide.

The two organizations selected from Japan this time will implement the following initiatives.

Certified NPO Sodateage Net

The organization, which supports the economic and social independence of young people, will collaborate with support organizations across the country through this grant program to provide the "Youth Drive for Cybersecurity" skill development program to approximately 1,500 young people. In addition, it will provide internship opportunities and employment support, and will also work on long-term security talent development, such as corporate collaboration and policy recommendations.

Certified NPO CLACK

It will provide "Be Pro Cybersecurity" training for high school students who do not have sufficient educational opportunities due to economic reasons or family circumstances. In addition to providing videos and online courses to expand the base of cybersecurity learning to about 700 people, it will conduct two-day in-person basic training for about 80 people in Tokyo and Osaka, and expand career options through company tours and other opportunities.

The Kyndryl Foundation has so far collaborated with both organizations in Japan to create opportunities for young people to connect with society and expand their potential, with a focus on developing cybersecurity talent. It is not just about providing skills, but about connecting learning to real-world application, engagement with society, and concrete career paths through practical, hands-on training, mentoring, and employment support.

Amid the shortage of cybersecurity personnel becoming a social issue, we believe that these initiatives contribute to both the empowerment of young people and the improvement of the resilience of society as a whole. The Kyndryl Foundation and Kyndryl Japan will continue to support initiatives that connect the next generation of talent with society while sincerely listening to the voices on the ground.
