Asama Kuzanbo, a villa resort operated by Kuzanbo Club LLC (headquartered in Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture), has launched a special floral design project by world-renowned floral artist Nicolai Bergmann to commemorate its 5th anniversary on April 26, 2026. The concept for this collaboration and other 5th-anniversary initiatives is "To the depths of Asama, where the sky, the mountains, and the five senses breathe," through which we wish to express our gratitude to everyone.

For this project, Nicolai Bergmann visited the site in person to experience the facility's spaces and natural environment firsthand, creating floral installations for multiple areas including guest rooms, the lounge, and the restaurant. This has resulted in a unique spatial presentation that harmonizes with the majestic nature of Mt. Asama, which can be seen nowhere else.

Special Floral Designs Inspired by the Great Outdoors For this decoration, purple was chosen as the base color to complement the facility's monotone-based interior. By combining powerful branches, warm wooden vessels, and original Arita-ware vessels created by Nicolai Bergmann, the design pursues a harmony between the flowers, the vessels, and the space itself. Designs that integrate with the natural environment of Mt. Asama surrounding the facility have been implemented throughout.

Meticulous Handcrafted Production Process The production of these works involves detailed manual labor, such as wiring flowers like hydrangeas one by one and looping leaves to be placed with tweezers, creating designs that overflow with the vitality of fresh flowers. Approximately 80% of this production process is spent on preparations at a studio in Tokyo, with the final designs tailored to the specific spaces being completed on-site.

Limited Edition Flower Box Expressing the Silhouette of Mt. Asama To celebrate the 5th anniversary, a specially designed flower box has also been created. The sides of the box feature a design motif of the silhouette of Mt. Asama, expressing a connection to nature not just through the flowers, but through the entire package. The work uses approximately 20 types of flowers and leaves, with a design that prioritizes a round form that looks beautiful from any angle.

<Message from Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design> For this decoration, we used preserved flowers, which are fresh flowers that have undergone a special treatment. When properly managed away from light and dust, they can maintain their beauty for several years, and it is said that some can be enjoyed for over a decade. Because they can be enjoyed in spaces where it is difficult to display fresh flowers, such as bookshelves or bathrooms, the possibilities for spatial design are expanding. This installation, born in the silent atmosphere of Asama Kuzanbo, is one that will remain in the heart along with the memories of your stay.
