The long-established "Kusatsu Onsen Souvenir Surugaya," founded over 90 years ago on Kusatsu Onsen's Sai-no-Kawara Street (Location: 507-1 Oaza Kusatsu, Kusatsu-machi, Agatsuma-gun, Gunma Prefecture), will renew its official online shop (https://kusatsu-onsenhap.com/) for the bath additive "Yokusei Kusatsu Onsen HAP" on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

With this renewal, we will newly begin online sales of original Kusatsu souvenirs and other unique Kusatsu Onsen souvenirs that have previously only been available at our physical stores.
As a result, the site will transform from an e-commerce site specializing in bath additives to an official "Surugaya" online shop that delivers the charm of Kusatsu Onsen more broadly.

## [Background and Purpose of the Renewal]
"Surugaya" is a long-established business that has been cherished by local residents and tourists visiting Kusatsu Onsen's Sai-no-Kawara Street since its founding in 1935 (Showa 10). In 1953 (Showa 28), it established its own bath additive factory and began manufacturing and selling "Yokusei Kusatsu Onsen HAP," a quasi-drug bath additive formulated with Kusatsu Onsen ingredients.

Since then, sales have continued for over 70 years, with cumulative sales exceeding 1 million bottles (500ml bottle equivalent).

Meanwhile, at our physical stores, we have long offered souvenirs that value the climate and culture of Kusatsu.
However, these products have remained in a situation where they "could only be purchased in Kusatsu," and we received numerous requests from distant customers or those who found it physically difficult to visit Kusatsu, asking, "We definitely want to buy them online."

Furthermore, since the opening of the official online shop for "Yokusei Kusatsu Onsen HAP" in 2021, we have felt that more customers are discovering "Surugaya" through the bath additive and becoming interested in Kusatsu Onsen and its inns.

Given this background, we decided to take this renewal as an opportunity to deliver the charm of Kusatsu Onsen more broadly online, not limited to bath additives.
We will now deliver the deep affection for Kusatsu cultivated over 90 years of history and our commitment to providing quality products rooted in the region to customers nationwide through our online shop.

## [About the Surugaya Group]
In 1935 (Showa 10), the founder from Shizuoka opened the souvenir shop "Surugaya" on Kusatsu Onsen's Sai-no-Kawara Street, naming it with his thoughts for his hometown (Suruga).
For over 90 years since then, it has been loved by the local community and tourists, watching over the changes in the hot spring town.
