Kumanomics Inc. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Naoki Hashimoto) has joined Glass Rock, a hub opened by Mori Building Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shingo Tsuji) in April 2025 at Toranomon Hills, which aims to solve social issues across sectors, as a strategic partner.

For one year since its opening, Kumanomics has served as a "co-creation coordinator," connecting stakeholders and promoting co-creation for social problem-solving. In addition to this, Kumanomics will now strengthen its collaboration by promoting strategy formulation, new program development, and event design, thereby further activating the facility.

◎ Background and Vision for Enhanced Collaboration by Kumanomics Representative

I am deeply grateful to have co-created this space as a co-creation coordinator for one year since the opening of Glass Rock.

Over this past year, I have become convinced of one thing:
To solve social issues, we need not only excellent policies or groundbreaking business models, but also a "place" and "mechanism" where both policy and business can move simultaneously. Glass Rock has both. Over the past year, I have witnessed firsthand the co-creation that arises when government officials, business people, and practitioners sit at the same table, shedding their sectoral titles.

The appointment of Kumanomics Inc. as a strategic partner adds a larger role to the foundation built through our activities as a co-creation coordinator over the past year. It is intended to further enhance the value of Glass Rock's meaning to society—as a rare co-creation hub in Japan that can simultaneously move policy and business across sectoral boundaries—and to jointly envision the strategy itself.

Central to this is the "Social Innovation Sprint," which will launch in fiscal year 2026. This is a practical program that generates businesses by combining policy and business, starting from social issues.

It was created by conceiving social systems at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, refining the ability to shape them at a design school, and pouring both into its development.

We are excited to stand on this new stage, where we will initiate changes to the social system itself from Glass Rock, and we feel a great sense of responsibility and joy.
