This event gathers proud deli items and sweets from supermarkets across the country and asks consumers to vote for their favorites.

Starting today, Wednesday, April 1, we are accepting entries from retailers nationwide in 5 categories: 'Delicatessen', 'Sweets', 'Grocery', 'Fresh/Daily Produce', and 'Local Products'.

The key message of the general election is 'Japan's delicious foods are at the local supermarket!!' Entry acceptance begins for all 5 categories 'Kufu Tokubai' is a web service and app that publishes flyers and shopping information from various retail stores, including food supermarkets. Operated under the theme of making essential daily shopping 'smarter' and 'more fun', the platform features approximately 270,000 stores nationwide* and is used by over 17 million people monthly* (*=As of January 2026).

With a desire to further boost various products creatively sold by retailers—especially delicatessen items that are essential to consumers' dining tables and act as the 'face' of the store—we have planned the 5th 'National Supermarket Delicious Food General Election 2026'. The key message is 'Japan's delicious foods are at the local supermarket!!'.

We hope you will fully utilize the 'Delicious Food General Election' as an opportunity to improve product recognition and expand sales. We look forward to entries of highly unique products from retailers nationwide.

In 2025, 381 products were entered, and about 220,000 votes were cast! Excitement spread nationwide, and visitor numbers surged triggered by award-winning products! In last year's 'Delicious Food General Election 2025', a total of 104 supermarket companies nationwide entered 381 products. During the voting period, excitement built in each region, driven by poster displays and in-store announcements at respective stores, social media posts, and introductions by local media. As a result of voting by consumers, including 'Kufu Tokubai' users, the number of votes reached a record high of approximately 220,000.

Award-winning companies and various media attended the award ceremony, where business networking and tasting sessions for the winning products were held. After the award-winning products were announced, the event was widely covered by TV, newspapers, and web media as a gathering of 'delicious foods from all regions of the country'. Participating companies shared various positive reactions, such as 'sales exploded after winning the award' and 'sales channels expanded thanks to the general election'.

How to enter the Tokubai-sponsored 'National Supermarket Delicious Food General Election 2026' **■ Overview** This is a project to select the most delicious items from supermarkets nationwide by gathering recommended delicious products from each chain and store, and conducting consumer ('Kufu Tokubai' user) participatory voting. Not only those who know the taste, but also those who don't can vote for products they feel look 'Delicious!' or make them want to 'Eat it!'. Votes are cast from the perspectives of taste, appearance, price, etc., and awards are determined through comprehensive judgment.

**■ Eligibility** Supermarkets or retail stores handling food products. (Participation is independent of whether you have a contract with 'Kufu Tokubai')

**■ Entry Categories** - Delicatessen Category: Bento boxes, side dishes, salads, fried foods, etc. - Sweets Category: Cream puffs, manju, dango, etc. - Grocery Category: Seasonings, canned foods, beverages, dried foods, etc. - Fresh/Daily Produce Category: Meat, fresh fish, dairy products, frozen foods, etc. - Local Products Category: Side dishes, sweets, processed foods, etc., that strictly use locally sourced ingredients or unique regional seasonings.

The 'Local Products Category' has been renewed this time as a category where 'local flavors', such as special products and famous dishes unique to the area, are gathered. Products that shine with 'local color' that cannot be eaten anywhere else, focusing on locally sourced ingredients and unique regional seasonings, are eligible.
