Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (Chairman: Juro Kita | Location: Ukyo-ku, Kyoto) has begun accepting applications for the 2026 Spring Semester "Lifelong Learning Courses". Utilizing the university's educational resources, we are offering a total of 33 courses (Spring Semester) that meet a wide range of needs, from beginners to advanced learners, and from tourism to culture and liberal arts fields.

Background [Why 'multilingual' relearning now?] In the current era of rapid AI technology advancement and redefining of globalization, the importance of "communication skills accompanied by cultural understanding" that go beyond mere "translation" is increasing. Our university's lifelong learning courses aim not only to acquire language skills but to foster true international understanding by deeply studying the history and culture behind them.

In the context of "reskilling (relearning)," which has gained attention in recent years, multilingual learning focused on diverse regions such as Asia, Europe, and Latin America, in addition to English, has garnered high support from many people, including local residents, as an opportunity to cultivate multifaceted perspectives.

Features of the 2026 Spring Semester Courses Our university's lifelong learning courses consist of the following two pillars.

◎ Overwhelming Multilingual Lineup Offering 13 languages unique to KUFS, including English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, and Turkish.

◎ Returning Expert Education Knowledge to Society Direct instruction by our university's faculty and experienced instructors. We provide practical curricula usable in daily life and travel destinations, backed by academic grounding.
