Kudan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, CEO: Xiang Dayu, hereinafter "Kudan") will exhibit at the "38th Manufacturing World Tokyo Smart Maintenance Expo" to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 1 (Wed) to 3 (Fri), 2026.
At this exhibition, we will introduce our latest 3D scanning solutions, including the new XGRIDS product "Lixel K2," and our spatial data operation platform "Kudan PRISM" which utilizes spatial perception technology and 3DGS (3D Gaussian Splatting). You can see the entire digital twin utilization workflow, from spatial data acquisition and 3DGS generation to facility management and maintenance inspections.
In the manufacturing industry, digitalization of facilities and factories is rapidly advancing due to labor shortages, aging equipment, and the promotion of smart factories. However, a new challenge is how to connect acquired spatial data to actual operations such as facility maintenance and inspection, factory layout management, and information sharing among stakeholders.
The new XGRIDS product "Lixel K2" is a handheld 3D scanner equipped with 360-degree LiDAR, multiple cameras, and RTK positioning functions in a lightweight and compact body of approximately 1.2 kg. It can efficiently acquire high-density spatial data with relative accuracy of about 1 cm, and you can check color point clouds in real-time during measurement. Furthermore, from data acquired in a single scan, multiple 3D data can be generated according to the application, such as point clouds, 3D meshes, and photorealistic 3DGS, which can be used for measurement and design.
This enables intuitive and high-definition grasp of the site conditions in various operations at manufacturing sites, such as grasping the current status of factory and plant facilities, recording maintenance history, comparing before and after equipment updates, and managing layout changes.
Kudan PRISM is a platform that not only displays and shares acquired and generated point clouds and photorealistic 3DGS spaces with high definition and responsiveness, but also utilizes spatial perception technology and AI to utilize spatial data in actual operations, such as facility management, maintenance inspections, factory layout management, and information sharing among stakeholders.
This allows spatial data to be operated as a continuously updated and utilized digital twin, rather than just being stored as temporary records. It supports the efficiency of facility management and maintenance operations, rapid information sharing, and advanced on-site decision-making, while increasing the value of companies' spatial data as continuously usable digital assets.
At the venue, we will introduce the possibilities of spatial data utilization, including use cases for facility management and maintenance inspections using 3DGS, integration with facility management systems and various spatial measurement data, and deployment in simulation environments. We will also showcase the direction of spatial data utilization with an eye toward future applications in the robotics field.
We look forward to welcoming manufacturers, as well as those interested in facility management, maintenance DX, and digital twin utilization in factory facilities, plants, logistics facilities, and infrastructure equipment.
