Keiei Sanbo Co., Ltd., which operates the business owner community "Sanbo," and the Next Generation Management Association (Chairman: Hidetoshi Takahashi) will hold their monthly study group, the "Next Generation Management Association May Meeting," on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at "Sanbo BAR Shinjuku," a community hub operated by the company. At this meeting, Mr. Masakazu Yasukawa, Representative Director of Yasukawa Co., Ltd., will be invited as a lecturer. He will share his real-life experiences related to the two major decisions of "business succession" and "business transfer," which he chose from the perspective of a successor president who took over management, for business owners.
Background
In SME management, business succession is an unavoidable and important theme, and the successor president's decisions directly affect the company's survival. Caught between the "responsibility to continue what the predecessor built" and the "mission to evolve with the times," successor presidents face the dilemma of "Is this good enough?" and "What reforms should I truly implement?"
However, the loneliness and reality of decision-making unique to successor presidents are rarely discussed in books or general seminars, and opportunities for successors to share first-hand information are limited. At this meeting, President Masakazu Yasukawa of Yasukawa Co., Ltd. will give a lecture, sharing raw episodes not heard elsewhere, about his real-life experiences that led him to the choices of "business succession" and "business transfer."
Main Themes to be Covered at This Meeting
- The boundary between "traditions to protect" and "customs to discard"
- Why the option of business transfer led to the company's "evolution"
- How successor presidents should prepare for future crises
This seminar is not merely a success story but an opportunity for successor presidents to learn decision-making criteria when faced with the "next move."
