Yuritsu Arakawa

Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Monk / Dental technician

Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1985. After graduating from Nihon University School of Dentistry Attached College, he became an independent dental technician and was certified as a specialist in orthodontic dental prosthetics (one of about 40 in Japan). In 2013, he established 3D! Inc., developing cloud management of dental plaster models and 3D printer restoration services. In 2016, he received the MIT Venture Forum Japan Regular Member Special Award and Corporate Award (double award), and in 2021, the DELL DREAM TECH Contest Grand Prize, among others. After closing his company in 2022, he became interested in Buddhism through the teachings of Shakyamuni and Kukai, and encountered Shingon-shu during the Shikoku Pilgrimage in 2023. In 2024, he moved to Minamiboso and became a monk at Manoji Temple, which has a 1300-year history. In July 2024, he completed Shido Kegyō (four preliminary practices) and became a Shingon-shu Chizan-ha monk. He is currently training daily with the goal of becoming a "Super Charming Monk."
