Kyoto Research Park Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; President and CEO: Mitsuo Asano; hereinafter referred to as Kyoto Research Park), a hub for creating new industries in Kyoto, will hold "BEYOND2026," Japan's largest social conference, on October 30 (Fri) and 31 (Sat), 2026, together with the City of Kyoto and taliki Inc.

Social entrepreneurs and all sectors working to solve social issues will gather in Kyoto for co-creation and dialogue for a better future.

In "BEYOND2025," held for the first time in fiscal year 2025 by an executive committee composed of the City of Kyoto, taliki, and Kyoto Research Park, a total of 1,141 people participated from across the country. Through public-private collaboration that transcends positions, we will further strengthen the promotion of social issue resolution and the development of Kyoto's industries.

◆Overview of BEYOND

"BEYOND" was launched in 2018 by taliki Inc., which supports players working to solve social issues (Kyoto Research Park Co., Ltd. has participated and cooperated since the winter of 2018). It is Japan's largest social conference for social entrepreneurs, with a total of 9 events held to date and over 3,600 participants.

BEYOND's characteristic is that it is "a place to fully support people aiming to solve social issues." Starting from the voices and questions of professionals challenging on the front lines, it creates time where resources necessary for business growth intersect with diverse knowledge and perspectives.

BEYOND is not a place where someone teaches the right answers. It is a place for encounters and co-creation, open to all who wish to make society even slightly better, where participants from all sectors and generations, including entrepreneurs, companies, government, investors, NPOs, and students, gather and think and grow together beyond the relationship of "supporting/being supported."

◆Background of BEYOND and Kyoto Research Park's Activities

Kyoto Research Park first participated in "BEYOND3.0" held in the winter of 2018, and has since cooperated in holding the event at the Kyoto Research Park district from "BEYOND KYOTO" in 2019 to "BEYOND2024" in 2024.

Starting with "BEYOND2025" in 2025, Kyoto Research Park has become a co-organizer by forming an executive committee with the City of Kyoto and taliki.

In addition to holding BEYOND, to support the business growth and entrepreneurship of social entrepreneurs from Kyoto, we launched the 3-month social entrepreneur support program "COM-PJ" in 2020, co-hosted by taliki and Kyoto Research Park. As of fiscal year 2025, 6 cohorts have been held with 86 graduates, and the number of awards and funding rounds has expanded to 100, including adoption into "J-Startup NIIGATA" and equity financing of over 100 million yen after graduation.

The demo day for COM-PJ has become a main content within BEYOND, where program graduates pitch their businesses, fostering a platform for social entrepreneurs to expand their resources through business partnerships, funding, and team member recruitment.

By jointly creating a place with public and private sectors where social entrepreneurs gather in Kyoto and contribute to their growth, we intend to contribute to the promotion of social issue resolution and the creation of new businesses and industries from Kyoto.

◆BEYOND2026 Concept

Peace is like polished glass.

The more meticulously it is polished, the more transparent it becomes, and we forget its existence.

Without noticing that it shields us from the cold wind and protects our safe daily lives.

And when the everyday life that was taken for granted shakes from its foundations, and society's functions cease, when that glass shatters, we finally realize.

How fragile and precious were the things that protected us.

So, who has been polishing that invisible window?

Behind the calls for growth, the talk of purpose, and the celebration of market profits.

There are people who, while getting their hands dirty in the corners of society, prevent unreasonable divisions and isolation, and support the glass of "daily life" so it doesn't break. The prosperity we enjoy precariously stands on their endless dedication and risks.

Economic prosperity is built upon the absolute prerequisite of peace.

So, who bears the responsibility for peace?

BEYOND2026 will squarely face this question.

◆Concept Background

"BEYOND," launched in 2018, has functioned as an intersection for players aiming to solve social issues.

As we can see from the current unstable global situation, the "economic growth" and "innovation" that we naturally pursue are all based solely on the foundation of "peace." However, the existence of people working on the front lines to maintain that foundation, and the risks and costs they bear, have often been rendered invisible within the logic of the market economy.

BEYOND2026 redefines "peace" not as a mere concept, but as social infrastructure. Starting from the voices of those who continue to polish the invisible window, it will be a two-day event to learn and experience what it means to "protect peace" in future society, and to consider the necessary resources and forms of solidarity for it.

*This event is based on Goal 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" and takes a cross-cutting approach to multiple targets.

●Special Accommodation Plans for BEYOND2026 Participants

The autumn season, when BEYOND2026 will be held, is a period of particularly high demand.

Therefore, to make it easier for more people to participate, we have partnered with JTB to offer special accommodation plans exclusively for BEYOND2026 participants. Normally, business hotels in the same area during this season may have no vacancies even three months prior to the stay. By booking through this plan, you will not only solve the problem of "hotels being unavailable" but also save approximately several thousand to over ten thousand yen per room compared to arranging accommodation under similar conditions at short notice. As the number of rooms available is limited, please book your accommodation early, along with your BEYOND early bird ticket. Accommodation plans will be released soon. https://link-kpjt.com/contents/beyond2026/ (Under preparation)
