Unknown Worlds Announces Free Play Weekend and 75% Off Limited Sale for the Subnautica Series!

KRAFTON JAPAN, Inc. is pleased to announce a free play weekend and discount campaign for the Subnautica series, as announced by the creative studio Unknown Worlds.

This campaign is being conducted by Unknown Worlds to allow those who have not yet experienced the series to enjoy its appeal, ahead of the upcoming early access release of Subnautica 2.

The Subnautica free weekend will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store from Friday, April 3rd to Tuesday, April 7th. A "Free Play Days" trial will also be held on the Xbox platform from Friday, April 10th to Monday, April 13th.

Simultaneously, a special sale for Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero will be held during the following periods: • Steam: 75% discount from Friday, April 3rd to Friday, April 10th • Epic Games Store: 75% discount from Wednesday, April 1st to Wednesday, April 8th • Xbox platform: 50% discount from Friday, April 3rd to Thursday, April 16th

Subnautica 2 is the sequel to the Subnautica series, which established the ocean survival genre and has sold over 18.5 million copies worldwide. Moving away from the previous setting of Planet 4546B, this title features an entirely new alien planet, depicting an unknown ecosystem with visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Additionally, the series will introduce optional cooperative play for up to four players for the first time, allowing players to devise survival strategies together and share the fruits of their exploration. The game has maintained a top position on the Steam wishlist rankings since September 2025 and is garnering attention as one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
