On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Kumamoto National College of Technology (Kumamoto KOSEN; Yatsushiro/Koshi, Kumamoto; President: Hiroshi Takamatsu) participated in the 'Entrepreneur Koshien 2025' hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) at the Marunouchi Building Hall & Conference Square in Tokyo. The 'CPR BEAT' team won two awards: the NICT Chairman's Award and the SG Incubate Award, while the 'SMILE KUMAMOTO' team received the Nifco Inc. Award. The Entrepreneur Koshien is a business contest where students from across Japan compete by presenting products and services developed using ICT, refined with the help of ICT mentors. Nine teams participated this year. The 'CPR BEAT' team was selected for the national stage after winning the NICT Award at the 36th National KOSEN Programming Contest. Their project, 'CPR BEAT,' aims to make learning CPR fun and accessible to everyone. The 'SMILE KUMAMOTO' team was selected after winning the NICT Award at the 11th Sojo University Business Plan Contest. Their project, 'Perfect Cameraman-damon♪,' is a robot that automatically captures the best shots of tourist spots. Kumamoto KOSEN emphasizes entrepreneurship education through its 'First Penguins Project,' supporting students in taking on new challenges.
