'Tsuranuku Hito' (People Who Persevere) --. Appearing in the 11th installment is Japanese dictionary compiler Hiroaki Iima. As a compiler of the 'Sanseido Kokugo Jiten', he daily shares the depth of the Japanese language while collecting and recording words to be included in the dictionary. Additionally, on his own X account, his 'language usage collection', where he picks up and records words in real-time while watching the New Year's Eve 'NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen', garners attention every year. In a world overflowing with 'language' such as 'ra-nuki' words, coined words, and youth slang, we tend to strictly focus only on their correctness. We asked Mr. Iima about how we should face language.
