Farukh Ruzimatov, a charismatic ballet dancer who has captivated audiences worldwide with his refined physical expression, unique sensuality, and intense stage presence, will hold his final performance in Japan, "Ruzimatov JAPAN FINAL," in June 2026. Tickets will go on general sale starting Friday, March 27, 2026.
Since emerging in the 1980s, Ruzimatov has been at the forefront of the world ballet scene for over 40 years. As a top dancer for the Mariinsky Ballet (formerly the Kirov Ballet), he established worldwide popularity and defined an era with his dancing, which combined mystical exoticism with a stoic and polished beauty. He has enjoyed immense popularity in Japan since his first visit in 1986, and his role as Ali in "Le Corsaire" during his 1991 Japan tour became a hot topic, electrifying the audience. Since then, he has continued to shine on the Japanese stage through gala performances like "All about Ruzimatov" and numerous other tours.
This performance will feature a special program centered on Ruzimatov's signature works. It will include pieces being premiered in Japan, making it an event that symbolizes Ruzimatov's long stage career. Please look forward to collaborations and revivals that can only be seen in this performance. The cast includes Irina Perren, a principal of the Mikhailovsky Theatre Ballet who has performed with Ruzimatov for many years; Angelina Vorontsova, who rose to prominence during Ruzimatov's time as artistic director and is now a star of the same theater; Denis Rodkin, a leading principal of the Bolshoi Ballet; and other top soloists from the ballet world. Furthermore, Ruzimatov's son, Daler Ruzimatov, will make his first appearance in Japan. This will be a special stage that inherits Ruzimatov's legacy, bringing together elite dancers from prestigious theaters such as the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, and Mikhailovsky, along with the next generation of dancers.
This is the final Japanese stage for the legend who has captivated audiences worldwide. Please experience this special performance in the theater, which marks the end of an era to be etched in ballet history.
