KONDO Group held the 18th KONDO Spring Festival 2026 on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fukuoka Chuo Park in Fujimino City, Saitama Prefecture. Around 1,500 groups attended the event, which was held under the theme, “KONDO Spring Festival Living in Harmony with the Community: Connecting Tradition and Happiness to the Future.” The event opened with a mock traditional roof-raising ceremony and a candy-throwing activity, giving visitors a rare opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese architectural ritual. During the candy throw, children and families reached out eagerly to catch sweets, filling the venue with smiles and cheers. A hands-on sawing area using Chichibu cypress wood allowed children to cut logs with saws and experience real materials and tools. Young and veteran carpenters also demonstrated planing techniques, and visitors were able to try planing themselves. Many children were seen carefully taking home the wood shavings they had made. For the first time, the event also featured a blood donation awareness booth in cooperation with the Japanese Red Cross Society, helping visitors deepen their understanding of the importance of blood donation. Stage performances by Da ce Studio VIOLA and other participating owners and partners energized the venue, while a police car display supported by Higashi-Iruma Police Station proved especially popular with children. The festival area featuring food trucks from local restaurants attracted long lines throughout the day. Housing experience and consultation booths offered displays of energy-saving equipment, hands-on seismic damping demonstrations, and free consultations on new homes, remodeling, renovation, land use, and vacant houses. A knife-sharpening booth operated by KONDO’s carpenters was also highly popular and closed registration soon after opening. KONDO Group said the festival went beyond a local community event by connecting hands-on experiences, interaction, and regional contribution with SDGs initiatives. These included providing high-quality experiential education through sawing, planing, and the mock roof-raising ceremony; promoting health and well-being through blood donation awareness and community interaction; and contributing to regional economic revitalization through collaboration with local businesses and partner companies while communicating the appeal of traditional carpentry and craftsmanship. KONDO Group stated that it will continue walking together with the local community so that the KONDO Spring Festival remains a special annual day where residents can enjoy traditional skills, family time, and cross-generational connection.
