Konami Sports Releases Details for Elementary School Qualifiers of the 13th Konami Sports Junior Cup

Konami Sports Co., Ltd. has released details for the elementary school division qualifiers of the 13th Konami Sports Junior Cup, a nationwide junior golf tournament hosted by the company. The qualifiers will be held for lower-grade and upper-grade elementary school divisions from June 1 to June 30, 2026, at Konami Sports Club Golf Academy locations. Participating facilities should be confirmed on the tournament website. Eligible participants are students in grades 1 to 3 for the lower-grade division and grades 4 to 6 for the upper-grade division. The competition format is 18-hole stroke play, with handicaps applied depending on the course used. Applications open on May 18 and must be submitted at participating facilities. The entry fee is 2,750 yen including tax, and participants will receive golf balls as a participation prize. The top 30 players in the national ranking for each division will qualify. Applications for seeded spots will be accepted from May 18 to June 8, 2026. Eligible applicants include the top three finishers in each division at the 12th Konami Sports Junior Cup finals, the top three finishers in each division at a members-only school event, one coach-recommended player from each team that participated in the 2025 PGA Junior League Championship, participants in the 2026 National Elementary School Golf Tournament, and Japanese national team players for the 2025 PGM World Junior Golf Championship. Entries for seeded spots must be submitted via the URL listed on the tournament website. The tournament has been held since 2010 with the aim of encouraging children to continue playing golf and improve their skills. To give more children an opportunity to demonstrate the results of their practice, the elementary school qualifiers will be held using accessible golf simulators at Konami Sports Club facilities. Finals for all divisions will take place at Nasu Highland Golf Club, owned by the Konami Group. The event is an open tournament, allowing junior golfers who are not members of the Konami Sports Club Junior Golf Academy to participate, and seeded spots will be available for the elementary school finals. The tournament winners will also be selected as candidates for support under the 2026 Athlete Support Program operated by the Kozuki Foundation. Konami Sports operates the Konami Sports Club Junior Golf Academy, a golf school for children, at 38 Konami Sports Club facilities nationwide as of May 2026. The academy offers level-based lessons using golf simulators under a curriculum supervised by professional coach Yuji Naito, Executive Coaching Director of Konami Sports Club Golf Academy. Konami Sports says it will continue supporting children’s golf skill development and healthy growth while contributing to the development of the golf industry.
