Voice from Implementing Company: "Employees' Health Awareness Increased, and Communication Became More Active"

Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization (Small and Medium-sized Corporation Category - Bright 500)

Shinko Corporation

<Background of Health and Productivity Management and "Office de Yasai" Implementation>

Our company is located away from the city center of Toyama City, with few supermarkets nearby, and improving the dietary environment for employees has been a long-standing challenge. Previously, many employees brought their own lunches, but others had no choice but to use a limited variety of delivered bento boxes, restricting their lunch options.

We also considered creating our own company cafeteria, but it was difficult to implement due to cost and space constraints. It was during this time that we learned about "Office de Yasai," which can be introduced in a space-saving manner.

In addition to improving the dietary environment, we decided to implement it with the desire to "activate internal communication" and "promote health and productivity management."

<How "Office de Yasai" is Utilized>

For the convenience of our employees, we have installed refrigerators in two locations. We also newly created a free space that employees can use freely upon implementation, utilizing it as a place for lunch and communication.

By creating our own storage boxes for organizing products and creating a stylish and user-friendly environment by leveraging our manufacturing site's technology and expertise, we have increased usage rates.

Furthermore, we are not just "installing it"; our nutritionist creates notices recommending products based on the season and health challenges, ensuring a proactive operation.

We are utilizing it as an initiative to improve health awareness, while consciously creating an environment where employees can naturally come into contact with healthy meals.

<Changes After Implementing "Office de Yasai">

After implementation, conversations like "This was delicious" have emerged in front of the refrigerator, leading to more active communication between departments that previously had little contact.

Also, while some employees used to eat lunch alone in their cars, employees now gather in the free space and use it as a place for interaction.

Employees have also responded positively, with comments expressing anticipation for new product arrivals and a noticeable shift towards choosing healthier meals. We feel that the improvement of the food environment has led to stronger connections between employees and increased health awareness.

<Future Outlook>

Our company values supporting employees' health from both "mental and physical" aspects.

In the future, in addition to improving the food environment, we aim to create an environment where each employee can work healthily through fitness activities such as yoga and Pilates, nutritional consultations, counseling sessions with certified psychologists, and well-being training.

These initiatives are conducted during working hours, and we prioritize creating an environment where employees can easily participate.

We will continue to promote health and productivity management and workplace development unique to Shinko, valuing employee feedback, and aim for continued certification as Bright 500.

"Office de Yasai" Supports Companies Engaged in Health and Productivity Management

Through "Office de Yasai," our company not only supports the creation of an environment where healthy meals can be easily chosen within the office but also assists companies in promoting health and productivity management, such as by holding health seminars conducted by nutritionists.

We will continue to support companies engaged in health and productivity management by improving the food environment that supports the health of working people.
