Kokuyo Designs Products for Cainz's 'Order-Cut Furniture Platform'

Kokuyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka; President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announced that it has designed products for the "CAINZ DIY MARKET," an order-cut furniture platform operated by Cainz Corporation (Headquarters: Honjo, Saitama; President and CEO: Masayuki Toke).

1. Background and Overview At the 2023 office furniture trade show "ORGATEC TOKYO 2023," our company proposed new ways of manufacturing under the theme "Let's create together," utilizing digital fabrication technology. This included products combining our school desk frames with wood processing technology. This initiative developed after Cainz took interest in our philosophy and designs presented at the exhibition, leading to our design cooperation and commercialization by Cainz.

Specifically, we provided expertise and design support cultivated through our educational and office furniture businesses, while Cainz utilized its product development, manufacturing, and sales resources to launch a new furniture series starting May 27, 2026.

2. Project Details Two major series will be sold on the "CAINZ DIY MARKET" platform: (1) Furniture series based on the ORGATEC TOKYO 2023 exhibition (6 items): Developed as original Cainz products utilizing school desk and stool frame structures. (2) Office furniture series (13 items planned): Designed by Kokuyo designers for office use, with manufacturing and sales handled by Cainz.
