(Headquarters: Osaka City / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) is pleased to announce that it completed the planning, design, interior construction, and furniture delivery for the "PARCO-Daimaru Refresh Room" for sales staff of Shinsaibashi PARCO and Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store, operated by PARCO Co., Ltd. at "Shinsaibashi PARCO," in late March.

1. Background

In recent years, securing human resources and improving the working environment have become important themes in the customer service industry.

Shinsaibashi PARCO has been working on improving its back-of-house space as part of its efforts to create an environment where sales staff can work with peace of mind.

The newly established "PARCO-Daimaru Refresh Room" was developed as a shared space that can be used by sales staff working at Shinsaibashi PARCO and the adjacent Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store. By providing a space that can be used across store boundaries, it offers an environment where people can refresh their minds and bodies through rest and interaction.

Our company leveraged its accumulated knowledge in workplace construction to handle the spatial planning, design, construction, and furniture delivery for this facility. We support the creation of back-of-house environments that promote mental and physical refreshment and communication for people working in the customer service industry.

2. Features of the "PARCO-Daimaru Refresh Room"

The space is a back-of-house area designed to switch between "ON" (work) and "OFF" (relaxation), integrating a space where individuals can refresh themselves in a short time with a space that promotes interaction among staff. It was designed not merely as a break room, but as a "boundary" to switch feelings from the tension of work (ON) to peace of mind (OFF). Users can choose the optimal way to spend their time, such as resting, concentrating, or interacting, depending on their condition at the moment.

■Entrance: A smooth transition space from "ON" to "OFF"

A gently curved round wall promotes a psychological switch from the work area. The texture of wood grain and tiles, along with calm lighting, gently welcomes workers and guides them to rest.

■Communication Area: A flexible space that balances interaction and concentration

Centered around a circular booth, it accommodates both dialogue and individual concentration. The surrounding furniture can be rearranged, allowing flexible use from daily activities to events and workshops.

■Refresh Area: A resting space to reset mind and body

Equipped with recliners and footrests, it provides an environment for deep relaxation even in a short time.

The high counter also supports individual meals and short solo work sessions, creating a space where users can spend their time at their own pace.
