The Executive Committee for the International Co-Creation Project to Design Japan and Education in 2040 will hold an online workshop on Sunday, March 29, 2026, titled: "[How to Navigate OECD Education 2040: A Complete Overview!] A Workshop to Design Japan in 2040 by Transcending the Past, Common Sense, and Borders — Speaking with the World." This event will serve as the closing program for the 2026 Japan-OECD Joint Research Month. Background "What kind of future do you envision for 2040, and what are you doing now to work toward it?" In an era of uncertainty, few people can answer this question immediately. However, globally, movements to envision future society through the lens of education are already accelerating. The OECD Education 2040 project brings together educators, researchers, policymakers, and students from various backgrounds across national borders to engage in dialogue and shape the future of society through education. There are practitioners in Japan who have participated in these dialogues, connecting with the world through field work, research, and policy. This workshop will share the full scope of these activities and the reality of international dialogue.
