"KOIKEYA The Smoked Salt" began its development as an online-exclusive product in 2022 and has become a popular item, selling out every time it's launched. Its unique flavor, created through the labor-intensive process of "wholly smoking potato chips," has garnered support, allowing many customers to enjoy the authentic smoky aroma.

Since 2024, under the theme of "Savoring Japan's Seasons with Smoked Salt," Koikeya has been delivering potato chips with flavors tailored to their release period. By selecting smoke chips appropriate for the season and hand-smoking each chip at carefully controlled temperatures and times, they bring out the umami and create a taste that allows one to feel the changing seasons.
