Juri Uesaka, star of "Asadora" (Morning Drama), graces the cover of VOCE for the first time, her overwhelming heroine aura blossoming.

The special July issue of VOCE features actress Juri Uesaka as its first-ever cover girl. Our encounter with Uesaka, who currently stars in NHK's serial TV novel "Kaze, Kaoru" (The Scent of Wind), was exactly one year ago in spring. The moment she finished fitting a white lace dress, the entire staff erupted in excitement, exclaiming, "Wow! She's like an Asadora heroine!" and "She's definitely going to be a heroine someday!" – such was her overwhelming heroine aura.

Several months later, just before meeting her for another photoshoot, the news broke that Uesaka had been cast as the lead in an Asadora! Surprisingly, she revealed, "Actually, when you all said 'She's like an Asadora heroine' during the previous shoot, I was in the final selection process for the 'Kaze, Kaoru' audition. It wasn't the right time to say anything, but I was secretly very happy (laughs)." The editorial department was filled with surprise and joy, exclaiming, "Amazing! What a miracle!"

And now, another miracle: while Uesaka is starring in the Asadora, her appearance on the cover of the July issue has been decided! "Becoming the lead in an Asadora was my first goal when I started acting five years ago. I feel a connection to be on the cover of VOCE at this very time, just as the drama has begun airing," said Uesaka. The photoshoot was a joyful and pleasant experience, as we looked back on the year since our first meeting.

For the cover outfit, a refreshing lemon-yellow dress was selected. Uesaka, radiating a fresh, translucent aura like a blue fruit, had the photography staff "knocked out" with cries of "So cute~~~!" Her heroine aura was further amplified. This issue also features beauty shots of Uesaka in a ladylike mood wearing a pink dress, as if bathed in a spotlight, so please be sure to check them out.

"Asadora filming is from Monday to Friday. I allow myself sweets only on weekends, and I look forward to that reward as I work hard (laughs)," Uesaka told us. As it was a Sunday shoot, she also showed a charming side as a 20-year-old happily enjoying a cake. On the other hand, her serene posture as she earnestly answered questions about acting and beauty with clear eyes, and her careful choice of words, revealed a heroine embodying both purity and strength. "My strength is my competitive spirit. I don't want to lose to myself, so I keep going until I win," Uesaka powerfully stated, her unwavering, straightforward expression leaving a strong impression. She has achieved her goals through her own power because the flame of passion continues to burn within her heart.
