Kodansha is holding an event in Shibuya to celebrate the release of Volume 2 of the manga 'Subaru and Comet,' featuring a side-by-side display of the new and old protagonists' cars.

Kodansha's Young Magazine serialized work, 'Initial D' — the legendary street racing manga by Shuichi Shigeno that celebrated its 30th anniversary last year — along with its sequel 'MF Ghost,' now continues with the latest entry 'Subaru and Comet.' Volume 2 goes on sale Friday, March 6.
To commemorate this, the Volume 2 release event '#InitialDNeverEnds' will be held over two days — Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 — at Inari Bridge Plaza in front of Shibuya Stream.
The dream of being the fastest on public roads, pursued by 'Initial D' protagonist Fujiwara Takumi, has been passed on to 'Subaru and Comet' protagonists Sato Subaru and Kudo Subaru — two people both named 'Subaru.'
To honor this legacy, a 'Soul Inheritance' display will feature Subaru's beloved BRZ (Subaru BRZ) and Takumi's beloved Hachi-Roku (Toyota AE86) side by side.
Additionally, a limited 2,000-copy reprint of Volume 1 of 'Initial D' — 'the story where it all began' — will be distributed free of charge.
