Starting Monday, March 30, 2026, Kodansha will launch the 4th installment of "MANGA MANNERS," a public etiquette campaign featuring globally popular manga works, within Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway stations and trains. This new phase adds three works: "Witch Hat Atelier," "Darwin's Incident," and "Space Brothers," along with new etiquette guidelines aimed at helping international visitors comfortably use Japan's railways.

"MANGA MANNERS" was first displayed as a giant welcome wall in front of the immigration inspection area at Narita Airport Terminal 2 in October 2024. Following its positive reception, the second phase was implemented starting April 2025 at Tokaido Shinkansen stations, where a large number of users were anticipated due to the Osaka-Kansai Expo. Furthermore, the third phase was carried out in November 2025 in Kyoto City, one of Japan's leading tourist destinations. Now, for this fourth phase, it has been decided to display the campaign on Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway lines.

As before, this time too, we conducted interviews with Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway to identify new etiquette guidelines that address railway manner issues, such as "Please refrain from taking photos that may disturb other passengers inside stations or trains," "Please set your phone to silent mode and refrain from making calls inside trains," and "When boarding or alighting, please keep the area around the doors clear." Including manners continued from previous campaigns, a total of 12 works and 12 manners will be promoted. We hope that not only international visitors but also regular railway users will take this opportunity to learn about Japanese railway etiquette in an enjoyable way.
