[Kobe Gakuin University] Public Lecture on Multicultural Coexistence in Kobe and the Future of Local Community to be Held on June 20 (Saturday)

Kobe Gakuin University is holding the 91st Saturday Public Lecture, which has been providing learning opportunities to the community since 1976. This time, as part of the university's 60th anniversary commemorative project, faculty members from various departments will offer a variety of lectures from professional perspectives under the theme 'Our Lives and Culture.'

Kobe, which has developed as a port town, has long been an international city where people of various nationalities and cultures gather. In recent years, the number of foreign residents has increased rapidly, and it has become more common to see foreigners in the city. How can we build good relationships with these people and realize a more prosperous local community? Let's think about this while learning from actual efforts.

[Overview of Saturday Public Lecture]

Under the founding spirit of 'Love of Truth and Respect for Individuality,' the university has been offering the Saturday Public Lecture since 1976 to return the results of research and education to the local community. The first lecture was held as part of the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Nutrition, and from 1980 it became the Kobe Gakuin University Saturday Public Lecture, held every spring and autumn since then.

The 2026 academic year Saturday Public Lecture, as a 60th anniversary commemorative project, will feature the main theme 'Our Lives and Culture,' with faculty members from each department addressing contemporary issues of high interest from their specialized fields.
