[April Dream] Let's Program, Kids and Adults Alike!

KNIMEST supports April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day to share dreams. This press release is KNIMEST's dream.

## KNIMEST's April Dream

KNIMEST (pronounced "NIMEST") has been assisting individuals who have not programmed before, or who find programming a bit daunting, in utilizing their valuable data. Centered around KNIME (pronounced "NIME"), a free no-code/low-code tool, we aspire to share the experience of how surprisingly easy it is for people of all ages to use programming and generative AI.

Since 2023, we have supported data utilization for new drug discovery and information exchange on the latest research through study groups like zassou.syk (Zassou Drug Discovery).

In spring 2026, we will further expand our activities and hold public events to convey the appeal of KNIME.
In March, we held "KNIME de Drug Discovery Chemistry" @ gusuku Ashibinaa OSAKA.

And from this April, we hope to enjoy programming with children.

KNIMEST, a KNIME evangelist, will focus on programming education for children in 2026. A free programming club for 7-17 year olds will start in Nara.

On April 29, 2026 (holiday), we will hold "CoderDojo Yamato-Saidaiji (No.001)", a programming club for children in Nara City. This event is a newly established free learning space in the community where children can challenge programming at their own pace.

Have you ever felt that anyone should be able to easily use programming and generative AI for fun or to be useful, but found it difficult to take the first step? We want to learn and grow together in such moments!
That is KNIMEST's April Dream.

## About CoderDojo Yamato-Saidaiji

CoderDojo is a free programming dojo for children aged 7-17. There is no fixed curriculum, and it aims to be an open learning space where children can freely challenge "what they want to create."

- Beginners and experienced participants are welcome
- Mentors provide support for anything unclear
- Children can teach each other and show off their creations
- Free and relaxed atmosphere

### Information for Participants (To Guardians)

1. Participation of Guardians

- Under 12 years old: Guardians must participate together
- 13 years old and above: Solo participation is allowed, but please provide emergency contact information

2. Creating a Safe and Comfortable Environment

- Please participate according to staff guidance
- Please refrain from actions that disturb other participants
- If you are not feeling well, please rest and do not overexert yourself

3. Internet Usage

- Wi-Fi is available at the venue
- Please follow staff guidance for safe usage

4. What to Bring

- Device for activities such as a laptop or tablet
- Charger, mouse, etc., as needed

## Organizer Profile

KNIMEST (KNIME Evangelist)

Began activities to promote KNIME, a free low-code tool, in 2020. Specializes in data utilization in the field of drug discovery chemistry and life sciences, and was selected as one of the "Top KNinjas of the Just KNIME It! Challenges" by KNIME in 2022.
Organizes zassou.syk, a life science study group, and holds numerous educational events and study sessions. From 2026, will begin operating CoderDojo Yamato-Saidaiji, expanding opportunities for children to become familiar with programming.
