KKDAY JAPAN Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Branch Manager: Kimiharu Obuchi), which operates the local tour and activity booking platform 'KKday', is pleased to announce the appointment of Seal Chang from the Taiwan headquarters to the newly created position of CGIO (Chief Growth & Innovation Officer) and Head of the Growth & Innovation Center, overseeing business growth and technological innovation in global expansion. With this appointment, we will accelerate the construction of a 'Next Generation OTA Model' utilizing AI. We will strengthen the provision of personalized travel experiences and digital transformation (DX) support for small and medium-sized suppliers who are responsible for tourism infrastructure.

## ■ Background and Purpose of Appointment: Structural Transformation of the Tourism Industry and AI Implementation

With the rapid recovery of inbound demand, structural issues such as overtourism in specific cities and chronic labor shortages among regional and SME operators have become prominent globally. Breaking away from the conventional 'travel search platform', KKday is focusing on the digitalization of the 'practical domain of the tourism business (supply chain)', an area difficult for large-scale OTAs to enter. By appointing Seal Chang, who has driven business growth and customer experience, as CGIO, we will directly connect AI technology to user 'experience value' and operator 'business efficiency', aiming to solve challenges across the entire industry.

## ■ New CGIO Seal Chang / Chief Growth & Innovation Officer

Demonstrated leadership in product development and technology for over 10 years. After obtaining a master's degree in computer science from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, joined KKday in 2018. Expanded roles from a technical leader to a driver of strategic growth, with a track record of directing a global team of up to 50 people. Highly evaluated for creating flexible business growth utilizing AI.

### [Inaugural Comment]

I am honored to take on the role of CGIO at KKday. Travel planning inherently involves 'hassles (friction)' in searching and arranging. My mission is to use data and technology to reduce all of this friction to zero. As CGIO, I will deepen the platform's AI utilization and promote the personalization of the travel experience. Instead of uniform package tours, we will intuitively provide attractive local tours tailored to individual preferences. Furthermore, our technological foundation is the key to dispersing the surging inbound demand to regional areas and resolving overtourism. By supporting the digitalization of suppliers, we will deliver the best customer experience (CX) to both operators and travelers.
