Our company supports April Dream, which designates April 1st as a 'Day to Broadcast Dreams.'
This press release is a declaration of the future that Kiyohime Onsen Co., Ltd. earnestly wishes to realize.
Founded 110 years ago.
As times change, we continue to ask ourselves:
'Who are hot springs for?'
One answer was to change hot spring trips from something people felt they 'might have to give up' into something they 'want to do again.'
As the inn with the oldest history in the Hinatayama Onsen Village, we are pursuing two challenges for the next 100 years.
■ 1. Towards Hot Spring Trips That Turn 'We Might Have to Give Up' into 'Let's Come Again'
'I want to go to a hot spring. But it's difficult considering the burden of assistance and mobility.'
Many families give up on traveling for this reason.
We want to change that 'resignation.'
'Onsen garden Yumotoan Kiyohime' offers a space where guests can stay without worrying about their surroundings, featuring detached rooms all equipped with private open-air baths.
With a layout that allows wheelchair access from the front desk to the guest rooms, and a stay style that is fully contained within the room, we reduce the burden of mobility and the need to worry about other guests.
Two of our 13 rooms are designed as 'Universal Design Rooms,' ensuring a comfortable stay regardless of age or physical condition.
In the detached rooms [Satsuki-an] and [Yuzuki-an], we have installed movable open-air bathtubs that can adjust in height, allowing safe bathing when used in conjunction with a specialized chair.
Additionally, we have established systems for:
- Rental of wheelchairs, shower chairs, and bath lifts
- Individual consultations for nursing care meals
- Advance reservation of parking spaces for disabled guests
The natural hot spring water, flowing directly from the source, is known as the 'water of beautiful skin,' relaxing not only the body but also the mind.
The time spent here transforms a trip you thought you 'might have to give up' into an experience that makes you think, 'Let's come again.'
That is the hot spring trip we want to provide.
■ 2. Connecting Hot Spring Culture to the Future Together with the Community
It's not just the history of our inn that we want to preserve.
It is the hot spring culture itself that breathes life into this area.
Hinatayama Onsen has a history of over 800 years and has evolved alongside people's lives since ancient times.
Historically, it is a hot spring resort that Saigo Takamori is said to have visited.
However, culture does not survive simply by existing.
It is connected to the future only when it is used, cherished, and passed down by people.
We carry that sentiment...
