Recently, a special project combining music and gastronomy has been realized through a collaboration with 'Noborioji Hotel', a fellow Relais member that shares the common thread of warm hospitality. From the gathering of young musicians 'Japan National Orchestra' produced by world-renowned pianist Kyohei Sorita, we welcome up-and-coming cellist Yuya Mizuno, the first Asian to win the Prague Spring International Music Competition. Kitano ordinarily provides rich time accompanied by music by installing a piano from Austria's oldest piano maker, Bösendorfer, in its main dining room. On the other hand, 'Noborioji Hotel' also supports the Japan National Orchestra, which backs young musicians, holding regular concerts within its facilities, captivating the five senses with food and sound just like Kitano. This time, layering the thoughts of the two establishments, we will draw a beautiful and memorable moment. Welcoming cellist Yuya Mizuno, this program allows guests to enjoy authentic performances, including a difficult piece by Shostakovich. On the day of the event, passionate pieces requiring transcendental techniques will be performed. Yuya Mizuno | Cello In 2025, he became the first Asian to win the cello division of the 76th Prague Spring International Music Competition, receiving four special awards alongside it. He has received high praise in major domestic and international competitions, including 1st place and the Iwatani Award (Audience Award) at the 89th Music Competition of Japan, and 1st place and Audience Award at the 13th Tokyo Music Competition. He has performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Osaka Symphony, and Kyoto Symphony Orchestras. He develops a wide range of performance activities, including recitals, chamber music, and international music festivals. After completing the Soloist Diploma Course at Toho Gakuen School of Music, he trained at the Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary and the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He is loaned a 1710 PIETROGIACOMO ROGERI (Suntory Foundation for the Arts) and an F. TOURTE bow (Yasushi Sumino Collection). https://www.yuyamizuno.com/ Yuriko Morota | Piano A pianist of sensitivity whose charm lies in a transparent tone and a highly honed sense of balance. While studying at Toho Gakuen School of Music, she won the 1st Japan Chamber Music Competition. She won 2nd place at the Awaji Island International Chamber Music Competition and received the Special Award at the Music Competition of Japan. After obtaining a diploma at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Italy, she studied in Vienna. Upon returning to Japan, she served as the official pianist for numerous domestic and international competitions and music festivals, and as an ensemble pianist, she possesses an outstanding sense of balance, earning deep trust from her co-performers. In solo recitals, her beautiful tone and solid interpretation have gained a reputation for high-quality performances.
