Kawasaki City School Book Exhibition 2026
Kitano Shoten Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director: Shintaro Kitano) will hold the "Kawasaki City School Book Exhibition 2026" for four days from Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Kawasaki International Center.
This exhibition is a book exhibition for elementary and junior high schools and public libraries, aimed at providing a place for school officials to research and study books used in schools. A wide variety of books will be exhibited, including Kawasaki-related books, which are local resources, books under Article 9 of the supplementary provisions used in special needs schools and special needs classes in elementary and junior high schools, textbook-related books, and themed selection corners.
Through books, we aim to foster children's interest and curiosity in learning, encourage a proactive attitude towards learning, and contribute to creating an environment that nurtures rich sensibilities. This time, we will also set up an exhibition corner with selections based on themes submitted by customers, providing more practical and specific opportunities for book selection.
Large-scale exhibition for school libraries and public libraries
This exhibition will feature approximately 15,000 books, mainly for school libraries. In addition to textbook-related books, rare Kawasaki-related books and local historical materials that are difficult to obtain through general distribution will also be exhibited and introduced.
Furthermore, in addition to the "books under Article 9 of the supplementary provisions" adopted by Kawasaki City Special Needs Schools and special needs classes in elementary and junior high schools, "books under Article 9 of the supplementary provisions" adopted by neighboring municipalities will also be exhibited. This will be a valuable opportunity for teachers, school librarians, and book volunteers to utilize for practical book selection in schools.
Moreover, books related to Kawasaki City will be exhibited, featuring picture book author Satoshi Kako, scientist Akira Fujishima, and leading folktale researcher Toshio Ozawa. Through an exhibition structure that allows visitors to experience the local culture and accumulation of knowledge, we propose a broader learning experience unique to the Kawasaki region.
"Themed Selection" exhibition corner born from customer feedback
This exhibition will feature a special exhibition corner with selections based on themes submitted by customers. By curating books according to the themes and interests requested on-site, we will support more practical and specific book selection.
The selected books will be provided as a list on the spot. Although sales will not be conducted at the exhibition, it will be a valuable opportunity to compare and consider books by actually holding them.
