Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture to Launch "Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online" Service from July 1st

Kids Public Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Naoya Hashimoto) has been commissioned by Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture (Mayor: Osamu Matsumaru) to provide its "Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online" service to Moriya City residents starting July 1, 2026.

"Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online" is a service that allows users to consult with over 250 affiliated pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Joso region, including Moriya City, is at a major turning point with the revision of the nighttime and holiday pediatric emergency medical care system due to the physician work style reform implemented from April 2024.

By creating an environment where parents can easily consult with pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives from their home smartphones, we will support Moriya City's efforts to build a community where pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing can be done with peace of mind.

Background of the Introduction of "Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online"

Moriya City is promoting seamless support from pregnancy to child-rearing to realize its vision of "Exciting Child-Rearing Kingdom Moriya." To date, through the provision of the "MORIYA Electronic Mother and Child Handbook App," the city has strived to improve convenience by enabling smartphone-based information acquisition, online application for birth registration, and appointment booking for consultations.

However, with the "physician work style reform" taking effect from April 2024, the pediatric emergency medical care system during holidays and nights in the Joso region (Toride City, Moriya City, Tone Town, Tsukubamirai City, Joso City) is facing a major transition. Environmental changes such as the consolidation resulting from the revision of the "Joso Region Pediatric Emergency Medical Care System" and the decrease in the number of pediatricians have become a significant source of anxiety for child-rearing households, who are unsure where to seek consultation during nighttime or holidays.

To address these challenges, Moriya City will newly introduce "Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online." By establishing an environment where users can easily consult with pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives online, we will work with Moriya City to further promote the creation of a city where everyone can experience pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing with peace of mind, by supporting their anxieties before visiting a medical institution.

Services Available in Moriya City through "Obstetrics and Gynecology/Pediatrics Online" (Partial)

Residents of the city can consult with pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives online free of charge.

Consult Anytime

Questions are accepted via text 24 hours a day, every day. Doctors and midwives will send text responses.

Nighttime Consultations

Available via LINE message chat and video calls from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays (reservation system, 10 minutes per slot). Reservations can be made up to 15 minutes before the consultation begins.

Daytime Midwife Consultations

Consultations with midwives via LINE message chat are available without reservation from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.

Users can search and browse past consultation content and responses from doctors and midwives.
