Kids Public Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Naoya Hashimoto) has collaborated with Aguni Village, Shimajiri-gun, Okinawa Prefecture (Mayor: Kazuhiro Uehara) to begin providing "OB/GYN & Pediatrics Online," operated by the company, as a service for Aguni Village residents starting April 1, 2026.

Aguni Village had introduced this service on a trial basis from November 1, 2025, and as a result of its use by residents, it has now been officially adopted. To address the challenge of the absence of OB/GYN and pediatric specialists on the island due to geographical constraints, we will continue to provide support to ensure that residents can experience pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare with greater peace of mind by creating an environment where they can easily consult with obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians via smartphones.

## Background of "OB/GYN & Pediatrics Online" Introduction

Aguni Village, a remote island located approximately 60km northwest of Okinawa Main Island, faced the challenge of not having OB/GYN or pediatric specialists within the village. This limited direct access to medical institutions or specialized consultation services for concerns such as changes in physical condition during pregnancy or children's health issues.

Previously, when specialized advice was needed, residents had to travel to medical institutions outside the island or rely on phone consultations. Particularly for households experiencing their first pregnancy and childcare, alleviating the anxiety of "having no immediate place to consult" was an urgent issue in the village's health policies.

Based on the "4th Aguni Village Comprehensive Plan," Aguni Village is promoting an environment where parenting households can raise children with peace of mind without feeling isolated, and supporting the balance between work and childcare. The village initially introduced "OB/GYN & Pediatrics Online" on a trial basis from November 1, 2025, for effectiveness verification. With the goal of alleviating the anxiety of residents experiencing pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare in the village by securing an online consultation platform, the service has been officially adopted as continuous support from April 1, 2026.

The introduction of "OB/GYN & Pediatrics Online" aims to overcome the geographical handicap of being a remote island by utilizing ICT, providing a sense of security that expert advice can be received anytime, anywhere. By creating an environment where residents can easily consult with obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians from their home smartphones, we will contribute to further support for pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare in Aguni Village.
