Kia PBV Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yasunari Tajima; hereinafter "Kia PBV Japan") will launch the "PV5," the first model in the "PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle)" EV van series, in Japan this spring. The PBV series is based on a dedicated EV platform developed by Kia Corporation (Headquarters: Seoul, South Korea; President & CEO: Ho Sung Song).


The PV5 features a flat, low-floor structure for easy passenger boarding and cargo loading/unloading, a spacious and highly customizable interior, high quietness unique to EVs, and a large-capacity battery. Furthermore, it is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and high collision safety performance, achieving comprehensive comfort and safety. Kia PBV Japan's dream is to leverage these features to develop PBVs into mobility solutions for the diverse challenges facing Japanese society and businesses—such as responding to carbon neutrality, an aging population, rural depopulation, and disaster preparedness and response.
