'Aim for the Top!' Reaches 400 Broadcasts!

The youth documentary program 'Aim for the Top!', broadcast by KHB Higashi-Nippon Broadcasting (Headquarters: Sendai City, Taihaku Ward) to support Miyagi's high school students who will lead the next generation and to closely follow those dedicated to their club activities, will reach its 400th broadcast on July 11 (Sat).

'Aim for the Top!' began in April 2016 as a program that closely covers club activities at high schools in Miyagi Prefecture, depicting the passionate youth of high school students striving for the 'top' through rigorous training.

The commemorative 400th episode will feature the women's basketball team of Miyagi First High School, a historic institution known for its academic excellence. The team, which practices daily with the motto of 'thinking basketball' while pursuing both academics and sports, participated in last year's prefectural tournament with a team primarily composed of second-year students but was defeated in the quarterfinals, failing to advance to the Tohoku tournament. The cause of their defeat was their tendency to rely on others and a lack of drive to attack themselves.

This year, with those same members now in their third year, they challenged the prefectural tournament, fueled by the regret of their past defeat and a renewed focus on scoring.

Will they achieve their goal of participating in the Tohoku tournament for the first time since 2008? We closely followed the team's efforts to achieve victory through their 'thinking basketball' approach.
