Daito Trust Construction Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Kei Takeuchi) has jointly developed "Marugoto National Qualification Pass Global," a program for foreign engineers to acquire national construction-related qualifications, with Hands Global Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President: Aritsugu Tokumura). This program will begin trial operation for its own employees this fiscal year, with continuous improvements based on on-site feedback, aiming to produce many successful candidates and eventually expand sales externally.
In recent years, the number of foreign workers in the construction industry has exceeded 180,000, a five-fold increase in the past eight years. In particular, the number of highly skilled professionals holding the "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" (Gijinkoku) residence status, which allows for long-term residency, has reached a record high. For them, acquiring national qualifications such as Construction Management Engineer is an essential element for career formation.
According to a survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism*, while approximately 75% of foreign engineers are eager to acquire qualifications, the biggest obstacle is the more than 6,000 specialized terms that appear in the exams. Even highly skilled professionals with Japanese Language Proficiency Test qualifications faced the challenge that traditional text-based learning made it difficult to match actual objects with their names.
This program features a function that allows users to learn architectural specialized terms while viewing images, making it possible to intuitively grasp terms that are difficult to understand with text alone by setting images, explanations, and English translations together. It also includes practical exercise functions based on past questions. Going forward, improvements such as smartphone and PC app development and multilingualization will be progressively advanced.
In parallel with active recruitment of foreign talent, including five Uzbek employees in April 2025 and three in 2026, Daito Trust Construction will contribute to solving challenges in the recruitment and retention of global talent across the entire industry through this program.
