Keio Plaza Hotel (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Katsumasa Wakabayashi) will release "Pina Colada Shaved Ice" at the Cocktail & Tea Lounge on the 3rd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel, available for a limited period from Monday, June 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, with only 20 servings per day.

This product, themed "Shaved Ice Presented by Bartenders," was perfected by Keio Plaza Hotel's bartenders through repeated trial and error. As another scorching summer is anticipated, we invite you to enjoy this special delicacy in the cool comfort of the hotel lounge.

"Pina Colada Shaved Ice" with a taste like a tropical dessert

Keio Plaza Hotel offers unique shaved ice menus every year to welcome the arrival of summer. This year, several bartenders from the Cocktail & Tea Lounge gathered to express the hotel's original cocktail "Pina Colada" in shaved ice form. While a typical Pina Colada is made with rum, pineapple juice, and coconut milk, Keio Plaza Hotel adds orange juice and mango syrup to create a more fruity and mellow sweet cocktail. The newly introduced shaved ice is inspired by this original recipe, offering a tropical taste where you can enjoy the harmony of pineapple, coconut, mango, and orange.

This luxurious shaved ice is generously topped with fresh pineapple, mango, and crispy coconut chips, using plenty of tropical fruits. Furthermore, the addition of pineapple leaves and orchid flower decorations gives it a summery and vibrant appearance.

Coconut milk ice is topped with mango syrup, tropical espuma of mango and pineapple, and coconut-flavored whipped cream. The fruity elements unique to Keio Plaza Hotel's "Pina Colada" are incorporated into the shaved ice to express the original recipe, and the separately provided blood orange syrup is finished by the bartenders with a shake, making it a special delicacy dedicated to the theme "Shaved Ice Presented by Bartenders."

Calculated flavor balance with "Pineapple simmered in homemade ginger syrup" and "Blood orange syrup"

As a flavor accent, pineapple simmered in "homemade ginger syrup" made with several spices such as cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon is topped. Additionally, by pouring the separately provided "blood orange syrup" to your liking, a refreshing orange aroma is added, and the flavor is enhanced.

Bartender-preferred pure ice is an excellent match for syrups and ingredients!

For the ice, "Kaku-gori," a pure ice preferred by bartenders and produced by Shinjuku Ice Co., Ltd., is used. Pure ice is ice that contains no impurities, carefully manufactured by skilled artisans from strictly quality-controlled water. Drinking water is filtered multiple times and meticulously finished over 48 hours. It melts slowly and gently in the mouth when eaten, and pairs exceptionally well with syrups and ingredients.
