TOKIUM Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Kenichi Kurosaki, hereinafter "TOKIUM"), which provides accounting AI agents, announced that Gunze Limited (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka, President and Representative Director: Toshiyasu Saguchi, hereinafter "Gunze") has introduced TOKIUM AI Itemized Input.

Background Gunze Limited is a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, founded in 1896, developing a wide range of businesses including apparel, plastic films, and medical products.

The number of invoices processed, including those from group companies, exceeds 4,200 per month, amounting to more than 7,700 itemized rows. Because transaction details vary by business division and group company, the journal entry patterns are diverse. In particular, journal entry input for invoices with a large number of itemized rows has been a heavy burden on persons in charge and a long-standing issue.

Reasons for Selection and Expected Effects The deciding factor for introducing TOKIUM AI Itemized Input was its ability to handle different journal entry patterns for each business division. The AI determines the account title based on transaction details, amounts, supplier names, and past journal entry data, and automatically inputs the journal entries, allowing for flexible adaptation to complex journal entries. It was also highly evaluated for the fact that the AI automatically learns the contents corrected by users, and its accuracy improves the more it is used. In addition, the convenience of being able to start using it immediately without detailed setup at the time of introduction was also a driving force.

With the introduction of TOKIUM AI Itemized Input this time, Gunze expects to reduce the man-hours for journal entry input by 3,000 hours annually. Currently, it has been introduced in advance in some departments, and the scope of use is scheduled to be gradually expanded and rolled out company-wide in the future.

Comment from Mr. Takashi Watanabe, Manager, Section 1, Business Management Office, Finance & Accounting Department, Gunze Limited While the processing of invoice data is an important task for the accounting department, it traditionally required a great deal of man-hours, and improving operational efficiency was an urgent issue. We highly evaluate TOKIUM AI Itemized Input for its ability to realize data conversion compliant with our company's rules, its low setup burden at the time of introduction, and the fact that its continuous accuracy improvement can be achieved through the AI's learning function. In the current advance operation, we have actually been able to confirm the improvement of data conversion accuracy by AI, and we plan to deploy this result to group companies in the future, leading to business process reform across the entire group.
