Kanuma Group (Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture / President: Noriharu Fukushima), which owns and operates 108 holes of golf courses based in Tochigi Prefecture, held a community golf experience event at the Minami-Oshihara Elementary School gymnasium in Kanuma City on Sunday, March 29, 2026, as part of the regional event "Isomachi Marche". Community golf is held as part of a pilot project promoted by the Kanuma Group, hosted by the Japan Golf Association (JGA) with official recognition from the R&A.
On the day of the event, participants included Mayor Shoichi Matsui of Kanuma City, city officials, school personnel such as the principal of Minami-Oshihara Elementary School, the superintendent of education, members of the Board of Education, and local residents. Through community golf, which even beginners can safely enjoy, a total of more than 60 people, from preschoolers to 85-year-old seniors, participated, making the venue very lively. As an initiative to embody the three values of community golf: "Empathy (being close to people's feelings)", "Inclusive (an environment where anyone can easily and safely participate)", and "Engaging (creating ingenuity to make people absorbed)", 10 community golf instructors from the Kanuma Group ran the event under the guidance of a national tutor from the Japan Golf Association (JGA).
Kanuma Group will continue to create places for interaction through sports while valuing cooperation with the local community, and will continue to engage in initiatives for regional revitalization.
