Realizing the Utilization of Actual Renewable Energy and Local Consumption of Environmental Value in Kawasaki Coastal Area (Kawasaki Port)!

Kawasaki City is rolling out integrated initiatives for industry and ports in the coastal area toward the realization of carbon neutrality, promoting the Kawasaki Carbon Neutral Combinat Concept ("CNK") and advancing the formation of a Carbon Neutral Port ("CNP"). Kawasaki Mirai Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki City, President: Jun Ida, hereafter "Kawasaki Mirai Energy"), Kawasaki Port Warehouse Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City, Chairman: Tetsuya Takahashi, hereafter "Kawasaki Port Warehouse"), Kureha Ecology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, President: Masahiro Namikawa, hereafter "Kureha Ecology"), and Enet Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Hiroaki Taniguchi, hereafter "Enet") have achieved the introduction of actual renewable energy power and the local consumption of environmental value in the Kawasaki coastal area (Kawasaki Port) as an initiative related to the CNK and CNP promoted by Kawasaki City. 1. Overview of the Initiative This project aims to promote the local production and consumption of environmental value using actual renewable energy power. It supplies actual renewable energy power utilizing the environmental value derived from Kureha Ecology Westec Kanagawa, located in Chidori-cho, Kawasaki-ku, to the "Kawasaki Port Warehouse", also located in Chidori-cho, Kawasaki-ku, realizing the "local consumption" of environmental value. The power supply and demand started on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. 2. Features of this Initiative (1) Realizing carbon neutrality by 100% utilizing environmental value derived from the Kawasaki coastal area. The actual renewable energy power supplied by Enet to Kawasaki Port Warehouse secures environmental value by procuring power generated from industrial waste incineration at Kureha Ecology Westec Kanagawa and non-fossil certificates (with renewable energy designation). For the electricity used in its buildings and warehouses, Kawasaki Port Warehouse utilizes 100% of the environmental value created in the Kawasaki coastal area to achieve carbon neutrality.
