YAWN YARD Kouri Island, a private resort hotel on Kouri Island in northern Okinawa, is launching a new project called 'Connected Garden' (Tsunagaru Niwa), designed to bring together artists, creators, guests, and the local community. This project aims to expand the concept of a 'stayable garden' beyond mere accommodation, creating a space where people and expressions can connect. As the first installment, a two-day exhibition and sale by Okinawa-based illustrator MIREI will be held. The project seeks to be a continuous effort where diverse creators—artists, craftsmen, chefs, and professionals—can express their sensibilities at YAWN YARD. The exhibition will feature a mix of new and existing works, with MIREI present to discuss her creative process. Additionally, an 'Original T-shirt Order Session' will be held, allowing visitors to create their own custom T-shirts. YAWN YARD is an 8-room private resort that blends into the nature of Kouri Island, offering a space where architecture and nature dissolve into one another.
