In conjunction with the traditional Hamasaki Gion Festival, held on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, we are calling for entries for the "Hamasaki Gion Festival Photo Contest" to capture the splendor of the magnificent Yamakasa floats.

Photo Theme

Photographs that convey the charm of the gorgeous and magnificent Yamakasa floats of the traditional Hamasaki Gion Festival in Reiwa 8.

Entry Guidelines

Eligibility

None (open to both professionals and amateurs)

Works

Color or black and white (Wide Yotsugiri: 254x368mm)

Entry Regulations

- Limit of 2 entries per person (unpublished works only).

- Attach the entry form to the back of your submitted work (photocopies are acceptable).

- Submitted works will not be returned.

- After the selection process (scheduled for late September), winners will be asked to provide digital data (CD-R or CD-RW).

- Copyright belongs to the applicant, but please grant permission for the organizer (Hamasaki Gion Yamakasa Promotion Association) to use the works for public relations activities as needed, such as on posters, flyers, calendars, websites, newspapers, television, and magazines.

[Note] Photography that obstructs the Yamakasa procession is prohibited.

Entry Deadline

Postmarked by Friday, August 28, Reiwa 8.

Awards

- Grand Prize: 1 winner / Prize money: 30,000 yen

- Excellence Award: 2 winners / Prize money: 10,000 yen

- Special Award: 2 winners / Goods equivalent to 5,000 yen

- Honorable Mention: 5 winners / Goods equivalent to 3,000 yen

Judging by the Hamasaki Gion Yamakasa Promotion Association.

- Exhibition Venue: JR Hamasaki Station, free passage.
